Rosie's Life
Created by Karina one year ago
I got Rosie and her sister Smudge when they were 6 months old, they were free to good home as both were riddled with fleas, after treatment and being neutered both girls began their life on the farm. Rosie was always the vocal one, and the greedy one yet she didnt weigh anything, Smudge (still with us) has always been timid, sttange how 2 cats from the same litter can be so opposite. Rosie was an excellent hunter around the farm, everything from rodents, the occasional rat to wild rabbits, some larger than she was, but she never wasted, always ate whatever she caught (other than the rats), her favourite thing to do howeve was to steal my bed. If i got up to get something to eat or go to bathroom, when I came back Rosie was laying where I sleep, and she liked to steal my dinner. Unfortunately on Monday 21st November 2022 shortly after 2pm, a council van drove too fast through our village and killed her. Rosie ALWAYS got off the road that's how I knew they were going too fast. After her death, I left her in the livingroom with Smudge so Smudge could see and understand her sister was gone. When I came back a few hours later, my family had a little funeral for her. My stepdad made a little cross and we buried her down the field next to my mothers old horse. I had a little name tag made and put it on her cross..A neighbour after finding out gave me some miniature daffodils, so they've been planted on her grave too. For the next 3 months Smudge was constantly with me, she has never been an affectionate cat so she must have been hurting too. After some time she went back to her usual aloof self and began using her box again, she still comes for cuddles at bedtime though.. For Christmas the month after Rosie passed, my father had a heart shaped tin and a cushion with Rosie's pictures on it made for me, so I can always see her.
